Having always been a hooligan-style brand, motorcycle gear and apparel maker Icon has been doing a great job expanding their market share from what seemed to be primarily the 'stunter' crowd in previous years. Aside from their constantly expanding line, they have been putting out some well-produced, professionally executed videos and builds. From their 'Motorcycle vs. Car Drift Battles' to their awe-inspiring 'Portland to Dakar' video, they have been making us all want to power down the computer and just get out and ride.
Under their premium brand, Icon1000, the Portland boys have been making some killer post-apocalyptic builds like their Ural 'Quarter Master' and this Harley Davidson build here dubbed the 'Iron Lung'.
This is how Icon describes their Iron Lung:
"She was an accident waiting to happen. 600 pounds of American coke fired iron, riding on weather-checked English rubber. Cracking femurs or rupturing internal organs were her specialties, and she had done so on more than one occasion. The Iron Lung, a 1991 Harley Sportster roadracer, was a vision of what never was, in response to a question that was never asked."
Great photography, attention to detail and the 'don't give a shit' attitude will always be a winning combination in our book. Surely not for everyone, but that was never the point.
There's something we just love about the lightning detail going down the forks. The dual SuperTrapp mufflers coming out the rear are pretty mean too!
What are your thoughts on the Iron Lung? Is it a bike you'd want in your garage? After watching the video, how could anyone say no?!
